Powertrain Cooling Upgrade
Aug 20,2005
It has been identified during in-market testing of production level vehicles, that overheating of the engine and transmission occurs under severe off-road use.
Vehicles will display engine or transmission overheat warnings that will, if ignored, result in the vehicle defaulting to limp home strategies or vehicle breakdown.

Action to be taken:

Dealers are requested to upgrade the powertrain cooling system on affected vehicles at the earliest opportunity. This action applies only to the first five hundred vehicles in the market place.

On all vehicles
• Install air blast transmission oil cooler kit including renewal of the coolant header tank de-gas cap.
• Reprogram transmission control module (TCM).
• Reprogram engine control module (ECM).
• Reprogram the active roll control software.
