Oil Cooler Pipes Fracturing - Gearbox Union
Jan 01,2004
Range Rover Diesel Manual Trans.

Oil cooler pipes have been fracturing at the gearbox union, caused by excessive movement in the pipes during normal vehicle running. Insufficient support clamps along the pipe length cause the pipes to vibrate resulting in fatigue fractures.

ACTION:
At the first available opportunity, either during remedial warranty work or at the
next service, replace existing oil cooler pipes with quality assured parts, applying additional saddle clamps to create greater support, thus reducing vibration.
