Main Harness Chafing on Suspension

CAUSE:
Land Rover have identified a concern associated with the main wiring harness where it exits the under bonnet fuse box. Under certain circumstances this harness
can contact the LH suspension turret plate and steel washer with the result that chafing damage to the harness can occur. If damage is sufficient, the relevant fuse will blow causing the loss of one or more of the following functions:

Headlamps Engine management Cooling fans
Fuel pump Ignition Air conditioning
ABS/HDC Horn SRS

ACTION:
To protect the long term integrity of the wiring harness, Land Rover are implementing Recall action on all 2001 MY Freelander within the affected VIN
ranges. All vehicles within the affected VIN ranges must have the harness check carried out in accordance with the procedure.
