Land Rover Hints at Discovery Family

Land Rover gave us a small hint of what we can expect from the 'Leisure' pillar of it's model line-up at the Geneva Motorshow.

The outline drawing was shown as group marketing director Phil Popham revealed the Range Rover Evoque Autobiography and Land Rover Discovery XXV at the maker's stand.

And despite being just a simple sketch, the outline clearly points to a sleeker model than the current Discovery with smaller window space and sharper C-pillar.

Made up of the Discovery and Freelander, 'Leisure' is one of three families that make up the brand along with 'Luxury' (Range Rover) and 'Dual Purpose' (Defender).

We understand that the Freelander name is set to be dropped, and that it's replacement will instead come under the Discovery name. And this smaller model is likely to get the manufacturer's four-cylinder Ingenium engines that will be built at the new Wolverhampton engine plant.
